Find the links on your homepage that lead nowhere. The report lists each dead link so you can fix or remove it.
Free. Usually takes under a minute.
What this test checks
Your own pages first
Links to pages on your own site are tested first, because a dead link to your own contact or services page costs you enquiries.
Links to other sites
Links to other websites are tested too, and reported when the page they point to no longer exists.
The exact links
Each broken link is listed by its address, so you or your developer can find it on the page straight away.
The same report also covers the rest of your homepage: speed, Google visibility, mobile experience, security and how easy it is to contact you, with a score out of 100.
Questions and answers
How many links does the broken link checker test?
It tests up to 20 links found on your homepage, starting with links to your own pages. It does not crawl the rest of the site.
Why do broken links matter?
A visitor who clicks a link and lands on an error page often leaves. Dead links also make a site look out of date, to people and to search engines.
What counts as a broken link?
A link is reported when the page it points to answers “not found” (errors 404 and 410), or when one of your own pages answers with a server error.
